Product Description

On the but in fact I love this social impact side Julio Rodríguez Sugar Skull shirt, the Fashion Act called on brands to disclose median worker wages, and levied fines on brands for non-compliance with responsible business practices. Those fines would be channelled into a community fund that would be used for environmental justice projects in New York. Instead of creating a new set of sustainability standards — an already oversaturated space — the amended Fashion Act uses existing initiatives like Science Based Targets, Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) mandatory due diligence framework as minimum requirements for brands to build upon. Other changes include efforts to curb wastewater pollution from textile processing and improve biodiversity, and enforce responsible purchasing practices. Per the bill, companies must also reduce their climate impact in line with the Paris Climate Agreement, a crucial target fashion is currently on track to miss. Those who don’t risk being fined two per cent of global revenues, enforced by the attorney general.

The amendments are the but Julio Rodríguez Sugar Skull shirt in fact I love this result of a months-long consultation process that involved a range of players, including sustainability-focused brands such as Mara Hoffman and Reformation as well as union organizers such as Local 1102 RWDSU and Workers United. These groups met with the original coalition behind the bill led by Maxine Bédat, founder of the New Standard Institute, and New York state lawmakers Anna Kelles and senator Alessandra Biaggi. The updated version has the backing of a number of new players, including Patagonia and Everlane.

This shirt looks exactly as described and is so cute! I will be wearing it to Catcon this year (in LA). It is 100% cotton and that is good for summer, however it is that stiffer cotton. Might soften a bit in the wash but likely not much. You will need to wash it before wearing as it has a slight chemical smell that is common with screen printed shirts. Great purchase!

Awesome shirt for last minute costume at a great price. Fits true to size and colors don’t fade after several washes.
